Health Claims for Auto Insurance (HCAI) has maintained its focus on correcting the flaws in the system. To fully address all issues pertaining to HCAI, both insurer and provider facilities were contacted for their feedback. A third party review was also conducted to identify elements affecting the behaviour of the system. Findings will provide a basis for the remediation process.
In order to ensure that HCAI meets the highest standards of quality control upon reintroduction, third party reviews will be performed prior to the system re-launch. Upon completion of remediation, the HCAI system will go through a series of stringent tests conducted by professional testers at IBC. In addition to acceptance testing, IBC will ask HCAI users to participate in validating the system. Rigorous testing will encompass a high volume of transactions to ensure the system is able to operate effectively under such conditions.
Testing is scheduled for summer 2009. Upon successful completion of this phase, a pilot will be re-introduced. The release date for the full roll-out is expected to take place sometime in 2010, depending on the performance of the system during the pilot phase.
All insurers and health care facilities will have an opportunity to practice using the system prior to the full roll-out. Participation in the practice environment is optional and should become available this summer for those who require it.
