On Jun 3, 2022, Google enforced their long-planned new security policy for their Gmail service, and as a result, everyone with gmail.com experienced disruptions with their appointment email notifications in Universal Office.
Google has decided to tighten security and reduce the spam many exploit through Gmail’s free service. This trend is expected to continue with other public email services such as Yahoo and Outlook. In light of these changes, our development team has implemented a Premium Email Service, adding a simple solution for Universal Office users to send their emails.
Given the nature of our new Premium Email Service, a small fee will be associated with accessing this service. At Antibex Software, we do our best to provide our clients with the best service at the lowest possible cost. Therefore, we priced our Premium Email Service at $5 per month for unlimited emails. We stand behind our services, and our customers will receive the best support for our new Premium Email Service.
The successful delivery of emails to a recipient’s inbox largely depends on the service provider’s reputation. Due to several factors, many emails still end up in recipients’ spam rather than their inbox. Taking this into account, we have integrated a reliable email service that ensures email correspondence sent from Universal Office arrives where it should – in the inbox.
With that in mind, for our clients who own a domain (ie. yourdomain.ca) and subscribe to an email hosting service (ie. Scala Hosting), there is another option available. If this is the case for your clinic, you can use the appropriate SMTP settings to configure that email hosting service in Universal Office’s eBroadcast for your email needs. To use your email hosting service, you will need to know the client configuration settings from that service. This information includes:
- outgoing server name,
- SMTP Port,
- security settings (such as SSL/TLS), and of course,
- username and password for the email address you plan to use.

The configuration is as easy as simply turning the service on in the eBroadcast settings page.
