3 Reasons Why To Submit WSIB Claims in Universal Office

Just last month we released our new update, that now integrates Universal Office with TELUS Health WSIB eServices. This much anticipated module submits claims directly to WSIB straight from Universal Office.

TELUS Health’s WSIB eServices streamlines communications with the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB), creating a simplified experience for people with workplace injuries. With WSIB eServices, you can help your patients focus on their recovery by submitting their bills directly to the WSIB. Now you know why we’ve made sure this feature is available in your favorite clinic management system – Universal Office.

Here’s what submitting WSIB eServices claims in Universal Office can do for your clinic management:

1. Reduce Business Costs

Simply put: spend less time and money on administrative tasks. With the Universal Office’s WSIB eServices module, invoices can be submitted to WSIB in as little as three clicks.

When submitting a new claim all of the patient demographic and claim information is pre-populated into the invoice. If you’ve already added charges to WSIB patient file, then you can simply transfer them to the new claim. All that’s left to do is click submit – it’s as easy as it sounds.

We’ve eliminated redundancy and manual data entry to save you time, money and resources. With this module, you’ll reduce the time spent invoicing for services provided to WSIB patients.

2. Quick and Easy Payment Reconciliation

Once a claim is submitted from Universal Office’s WSIB eServices module, that invoice is automatically stored in the patient’s file. When a payment is received, all you need to do is record it – making payment reconciliation a breeze.

Storing invoices in patient files allows for faster payment reconciliation, keeps account balance up to date and helps reduce overall redundancy. This leaves you with a more efficient clinic for you and your staff.

3. Manage Claims All in One Place

You already create, store and track over 20 types of WSIB claim forms in Universal Office. Now with the WSIB eServices module, you can submit, manage, review claims electronically and receive claim responses all in one place – perhaps one of the most coveted benefits of this feature.

This new functionality allows you and your staff to manage all aspects of WSIB eServices claim submissions in Universal Office. Workflows are streamlined by eliminating the need to work across multiple platforms, information is instantly updated in the patient file, and administrative time is freed up to allow you to focus on other clinic management tasks.

Did you know that WSIB now allows Ontario HST to be tagged onto WSIB invoices?

Yep, it’s true. Effective July 1, 2010, the WSIB is required to pay the new Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). It’s the responsibility of vendors, suppliers and service providers to determine which of their goods or services are subject to HST – which should be charged and totaled on one separate line for all of the goods and services provided using the new service code: ONHST.

And remember, when you launch WSIB eServices in Universal Office for the first time, you will need to complete the setup in Settings before you start submitting claims. For more information on how to get started using Universal Office WSIB eServices module, be sure to check out our Configure WSIB eServices & Add Providers Guide.

Please note that claims submitted through Universal Office won’t appear on your TELUS Provider web portal – only claims that were submitted directly from the portal will appear there.
