As of June 9th, 2006 in accordance with the FSCO Bulletin No. A-06 revision to the Ontario Claim Forms (OCF) OCF-3, OCF-5, OCF-19 and OCF-22 have been made. The new specification states that a claimant’s consent to share health care information between their provider and the insurer’s health profession has to be stated in writing. It is no longer permitted to share information pertaining to the claimant on a voluntary basis between the health care provider and the insurer’s health professional conducting the examination (referred to in section 24(1)9 and 24.1(1)2 of the SABS). In addition, two minor changes have been made to OCF 1 and OCF 21.
Effective April 2, 2007, the revised OCF 21 form will be required for use by all providers. Antibex Software will be releasing version 3.2.1 that will reflect this regulatory change. The remaining claim forms, OCF-1, OCF-3, OCF-5, OCF-18 and OCF-22, will be amended and effective as of May 1, 2007. Antibex will follow up with another timely update version 3.2.2 to ensure its customers have all the needed forms accessible to them.
