The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) has released a bulletin in regards to the Professional Services Guideline and the Pre-approved Framework Guideline for Grade I and II Whiplash Disorders. Health care professionals will be pleased to learn that the maximum hourly rate they can claim from an auto insurance company has been raised.
However, the Professional Services Guideline does not prohibit insurers from paying an amount above the maximum expenses of the health care professional. The new rates apply to chiropractors, massage therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, psychologists and psychological associates, speech-language pathologists and nurses as well as some unregulated providers. Hourly rates in regards to these services have been increased by 2.2%.
The PAF Guideline replaces the June 2007 version and changes are applicable to services rendered on or after July 1st, 2008. The new guidelines’ details can be viewed by clicking the links below or by visiting the FSCO bulletins.
