It’s almost Annual Information Return (AIR) filing time – are you ready to file?
The Annual Information Return is a questionnaire completed by service providers on a yearly basis, as the name suggests. It must be completed only by the principal representative. A service provider is any business that submits invoices via HCAI for provided goods or services for payment by auto insurers – typically health and rehabilitation clinics, and examinations and assessment centres.
AIR must be filed electronically by March 31, 2019 for the period of January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018. It assists FSCO in its market analysis, risk assessment and oversight of the service provider sector, and also serves as the tool to calculate the annual regulatory fee payable by service providers.
In 2017, service providers who did not file their AIR by the March 31 deadline faced licence suspension or revocation, and/or an administrative monetary penalty of $1,000. To avoid this harsh penalty and loss of license privileges including inability to submit claims and invoices, let’s get AIR in on time.
All questions included are mandatory (unless otherwise specified), and will cover information relating to:
- Principal representative
- Service provider/business
- Membership
- Business systems and practices
- Billing information and practices
- Suitability
Did you know that with Universal Office, you have access to two specially designed reports to expedite the filing process? These reports instantly extract the mandatory details you need to file AIR quickly and accurately. You can find these reports on our Online Template Library, accessible directly from Universal Office in the FSCO group. While these reports are similar, they extract slightly different information.
- MVA patients by their account activity
- MVA patient cases by their account activity
