The Insurance Bureau of Canada has approved plans to re-introduce the HCAI system after summer of 2009. HCAI operations have been temporarily suspended as of March 12, 2008. In order to re-launch an improved system, continuous work has been taking place and testing is scheduled for the upcoming summer. “To ensure that HCAI is re-introduced only under the highest standards of quality control, third-party audits will be performed at several points as part of the remediation process, and the system will undergo stringent stress testing prior to re-launch,” said the IBC in a November 24, 2008 letter to stakeholders.
Testing and training in HCAI will be available prior to the re-launch of the live system for all health care facilities and insures that require it. This test environment is scheduled for summer 2009. Other educational programs will continue to be offered by Viivi Riis.
