This spring, we received notifications first from TELUS Health and then HCAI about changes they plan to implement this year.
TELUS Health has a mandatory change where they require Practice Management vendors to add Terms & Conditions to each claim being submitted by August 1, 2017.
At this time, insurance companies participating in eClaims each have their own Terms and Conditions displayed on the TELUS Provider Portal that providers must accept prior to claim submission. TELUS worked with insurers to come up with a single, standard version.
In their request, they asked us to add Terms and Conditions to each submitted claim in both English and French. You will be required to accept the updated terms and conditions every time you submit extended health invoices (claims) from Universal’s eClaims module in our upcoming summer update.
At the same time, HCAI has announced System Release 3.18 that will go live October 2, 2017. High-level details about this release were described in the Year Ahead document HCAI distributed in January. HCAI is primarily making improvements under the hood in their PMS toolkit. This new upgrade also requires the updated Microsoft’s .Net framework 4.6, so you may need to run Windows updates.
And it looks like this update is also mandatory.
You may want to keep checking HCAI’s bulletin for announcements about their fall 2017 system release.
We are working hard to make sure your practice management system is up to date with all mandatory changes being rolled out by regulatory bodies. Keep checking our blog as we post updates.
