Finding Travelers Insurance Company of Canada on HCAI can be quite the task these days. With the recent merger and acquisition, it’s no surprise that many of our customers have raised the question – where should you send your claim?
Our search for answers took us to the Travelers website, where their “Our Story” page states that they merged operations with St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company in 2009. Then in their news release dated November 2013, the company announced another acquisition of The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company. But on HCAI, however, the claims continue to be submitted to either The Dominion or St. Paul Fire (the company who issued the policy).
No wonder there’s confusion, leading to more patients showing up with the Travelers pink slip! In order to determine where to send the claim, you’ll have to call the company’s claims office and inquire. We know this can be a daunting phone call, but it will simplify the process for future Travelers claims.
In the past several years, similar changes have taken place with Desjardins and Unica. As we learn about such issues, we promise to post articles in our support centre.
